Director Teja, who has given many blockbusters, has shot for a special interview with Gopichand to promote the latter’s Rama Banam, which releases on 5th May 2023. To note, Gopichand acted in Teja’s cult films like Jayam and Nijam. During the interview, Teja expressed his views about various things.

Gopichand asked Teja if there was any effect of OTT on the theatre-going audience post-pandemic. Teja said that the theatre business won’t get affected due to OTT and TV and added that nothing could give the feel of a theatrical experience. He further said that it’s the price of popcorn in multiplexes that is actually killing the cinema.

Teja opines that a middle-class family can’t afford the high rates of refreshments. Teja says that he suggests others watch films on single screens where the screens will be giant and added that multiplex screens are relatively somewhat bigger than the TV screens.

I can’t watch a movie without popcorn, and the complaint I hear from most of the audiences is about the high popcorn rates, said Teja. According to Teja, the Hindi industry isn’t performing well due to the exorbitant prices for snacks in multiplexes.
