Megastar Chiranjeevi’s last outing, Bholaa Shankar, was a huge disaster at the box office. Bholaa Shankar was the official remake of Ajith’s superhit film Vedalam. Meher Ramesh directed the Telugu version, and the movie even failed to put up decent numbers. But did you know that Powerstar Pawan Kalyan was the first choice for this remake?
During Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s press meet, producer AM Rathnam made this interesting revelation. The senior producer said, “After Kushi and Bangaram, we were supposed to do a film called Satyagrahi with Pawan Garu under his own direction. It didn’t materialize, however. Later, we planned to remake Vedalam here.”
AM Rathnam added, “The project didn’t happen due to elections. Kalyan Garu wanted my son Jyothi Krishna to direct Vedalam’s remake. Back then, Jyothi was busy with Gopichand’s Oxygen, and, hence, I didn’t allow him. Now he has handled the direction for Hari Hara Veera Mallu. He supported me superbly, and his work has even left Kalyan Garu in awe.”
