Mookuthi Amman 2, the highly anticipated sequel to star heroine Nayanthara’s acclaimed devotional thriller, Mookuthi Amman, has officially begun. The film’s producer, Dr. Ishari K Ganesh, kick-started the project with a formal pooja ceremony. The regular shoot will commence very soon.
Mookuthi Amman was directed by actor-director RJ Balaji. Released in 2020, the film was lauded for effortlessly blending entertainment, drama, and humans’ belief in the supreme power. Nayanthara played the role of the goddess Amman. The film was released in Telugu as Ammoru Thalli. The sequel will reportedly be made with a whopping Rs 100 crore budget.
Mookuthi Amman 2 will be directed by popular actor-filmmaker Sundar C of the blockbuster Aranmanai horror comedy franchise fame and jointly bankrolled under the Vels Film International, Nayanthara’s Rowdy Pictures, and Avni Cinemax [P] LTD banners. Hiphop Tamizha will compose the music.
