Idli Kadai (titled Idli Kottu in Telugu) is set to release in theaters worldwide tomorrow. Starring and directed by Dhanush, the film also features Nithya Menen as the female lead.
With the release just a day away, ticket bookings have been surprisingly low. Considering this comes after Dhanush’s back-to-back hits Raayan and Kuberaa, the muted buzz is unexpected.
Even the Telugu release has seen minimal promotion. While Dhanush seems confident about the content, a little extra marketing could have helped, especially with Kantara: Chapter 1 in competition. The film will now have to rely on word of mouth to make an impact.
Arun Vijay takes on a negative role in this family drama, supported by Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, Rajkiran, and Samuthirakani. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music for this joint venture between Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films.
