Friday release Raju Weds Rambai earned a decent reception from critics and audiences alike. Featuring Akhil Raj Uddemari and Tejaswi Rao in the lead roles, the film marks Saailu Kaampati’s directorial debut.
The movie grossed more than Rs 4 crore in its first two days. Affordable ticketing played a key role in drawing early footfalls. Single screens were priced at Rs 99, while multiplexes offered seats at Rs 105. The strategy worked through the opening weekend.
Once the prices reverted to standard rates, the mood shifted. Several viewers who planned weekday shows felt let down. Many took to social media to express frustration and requested the makers to restore the earlier pricing.
The production team has not issued a response, keeping the situation uncertain for now. With word of mouth still positive, the film’s weekday performance will indicate whether the price change affects momentum.
Chaitanya Jonnalagadda, Shivaji Raja and Anitha Chowdary complete the supporting cast. Venu Udugula and Rahul Mopidevi have produced the film, and Suresh Bobbili composed the music.
