The much-awaited socio-fantasy drama, Mirai, was released in cinemas worldwide yesterday and garnered a unanimous positive response from movie lovers and critics. While Mirai’s box office success has cemented its hero Teja Sajja’s position as a rising pan-India star, it has also given a new lease of life to the film’s antagonist, Manchu Manoj.
Interestingly, it was not the film’s hero, Teja Sajja, who was the highest-paid actor in Mirai. The latest buzz in film circles is that Manchu Manoj walked away with a Rs 3 crore paycheck, while Teja Sajja pocketed Rs 2 crore, as he had signed the project before Hanu-Man’s release.
Among the rest of the cast, Mirai’s leading lady, Ritika Nayak, was paid around Rs 50 lakhs, while Shriya Saran (Rs 2 Cr), Jagapathi Babu (Rs 1.50 Cr), and Jayaram (Rs 80 lakhs) received handsome paychecks.
