Young hero Teja Sajja’s just-released socio-fantasy drama, Mirai, has registered a thumping opening at the box office worldwide. While the actual figures are yet to be revealed, the film is believed to have grossed close to Rs 25 crore on its opening day, becoming the biggest opener in Teja Sajja’s career.
Meanwhile, an interesting buzz that’s doing the rounds reveals that it’s not Teja Sajja but Nani who was approached to play the main lead in Mirai initially. Apparently, Nani was quite impressed with Mirai director Karthik Ghattamaneni’s narration and gave his nod. However, the Natural Star had to exit the project due to remuneration issues, and the project had landed in Teja’s lap.
Mirai’s solid advance bookings for the Saturday and Sunday shows indicate a Rs 75 crore opening weekend. Mirai, also starring Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram in prominent roles, is produced by TG Viswa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.
