SS Rajamouli, the mastermind behind many blockbuster Telugu movies and the man who put Telugu cinema on the world map, even bringing an Oscar to Tollywood, leaves no stone unturned for his next release, Baahubali: The Epic.
He and his team doesn’t see it as just another re-release; they’re aiming to make it a true event film that will entertain audiences in a new way. The makers have already announced that both parts of Baahubali will be combined into a single cut with a runtime of around three and a half hours, which is sure to draw audiences back to theatres. Now, they’ve made a surprise announcement – Baahubali: The Epic will be released in IMAX format.
Seeing Baahubali in such a massive format is going to be a treat for fans — it’s not every day you get to revisit this saga on the biggest screen possible. This version will merge the two films into one cut, and that alone makes it worth the trip to the cinema. Sadly though, viewers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana won’t be able to watch it in IMAX since there isn’t a single screen for it in either state.
As for what else Rajamouli and his crew have planned… we’ll have to wait and see. The date is locked: October 31, 2025. It will be released in various languages, alongside Telugu.
Prabhas leads the film, with Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in key roles. M. M. Keeravani has composed the soundtrack for the film.
