The first single from Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, composed by Thaman, was released recently. The romantic horror comedy entertainer directed by Maruthi is set for Sankranthi 2026 release. Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhhi Kumar play the female leads. At ABP Southern Rising Summit, Malavika Mohanan made interesting comments about her role in the big-ticket entertainer.
“I have done a film with Prabhas sir, which is The Raja Saab. It is set for Sankranthi/Pongal release on January 9. I am very excited about that. It’s my Telugu debut. If I may say so, it’s a great role for the girl (referring to her character) as well. I feel that in most of the Superstars’ films, women don’t get a good role. We get 5-6 scenes with one song. If we are really lucky, we will get two songs,” said Malavika Mohanan.
She added, “A career of an actor is like a puzzle. Every film that an actor does fits somewhere into that puzzle. Sometimes, directors offer us great characters that help us better our craft. Sometimes it’s purely a business decision. If I am part of a big film, and even if I don’t get a great role, that’s absolutely fine and fits in the other part of the puzzle. Acting opposite a certain actor and in a big-budget film also adds up to something beautiful.”
The actress made it clear that her role in the Prabhas starrer will have more depth, and fans are eagerly looking forward to the same. The movie is now in the post-production stage.
