Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, is gearing up for a grand worldwide re-release on May 30, 2025. Over the years, the film has gained a cult following, and the re-release is already setting new benchmarks in terms of pre-sales, reflecting the strong anticipation among fans.
During a recent press meet, producer C. Kalyan made a bold statement, recalling the film’s original release in 2010. He said, “It was Mahesh Babu’s own fans who killed the film at the box office. They came in with certain expectations and were disappointed after watching it.”
He further added that many fans had personally reached out to criticize the film back then, but now the same fans are eagerly waiting to see it on the big screen again. “Maybe it was written that Khaleja would get its due only after 15 years,” he said, expressing hope that the re-release will bring the film the recognition it missed earlier.
The film features Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Ali, Sunil, and others in key roles. Mani Sharma composed the soundtrack, which continues to be a fan favourite.
