This Independence Day, Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth will be celebrating 50 glorious years of his illustrious career as an actor. The Thalaivar made his feature film debut with legendary yesteryear Tamil director K. Balachander’s cult classic, Apoorva Raagangal, which also had Kamal Haasan in a lead role, on August 15, 1975.

Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh took to X on Saturday evening and turned into a Rajini fanboy. “As @rajinikanth sir completes 50 years in films, we audiences are just lucky to live in the Rajni era!” the young TDP leader posted. He went on to say that he will never forget Rajinikanth’s unwavering support to the Nara family in its darkest hour. Nara Lokesh concluded his tweet by wishing Team Coolie a “great success.”

Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, also features Tollywood star Nagarjuna, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Kannada star Upendra, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and others in key roles. The film features a chartbuster soundtrack composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
