Thalapathy Vijay has shattered the box office left, right, and center with his latest action drama, Leo. The movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has broken all the existing records in Tamil cinema for the opening day. Leo grossed 148.5 crores yesterday, making it the highest-ever opener in Kollywood. Leo registered the fourth-biggest opening for an Indian film after RRR, Baahubali 2, and KGF 2.
This record might be unbeatable for some time. The film is also the highest opener in Indian cinema in 2023. It seems that Thalapathy Vijay will achieve his first 500 crore grosser with Leo. Despite having no early morning shows in Tamil Nadu, Leo posted a humongous number equaling Beast (35 crores).
