Popular comedian Prudhvi ignited a massive controversy with his “11 goats” remark during the pre-release event of Vishwak Sen’s Laila. Prudhvi’s comments offended former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fans, who have called for a boycott of Laila.
Just as the controversy was getting out of hand, Prudhvi got himself admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad. The senior comedian has reportedly been suffering from high blood pressure. Reacting to the intense trolling and abuse in a media interaction earlier today, Prudhvi said that he never targeted any political party or individual with his “11 goats” comment.
“I can’t help it if they misinterpret my 11 goats comment. I have been subjected to some humiliating abuse for the past couple of days. I’ve been getting hundreds of calls from unknown people who claim to be YSRCP supporters. It’s ridiculous to call for a boycott of a movie. Mark my words, Laila will become a huge blockbuster,” said Prudhv.
Laila has Akanksha Sharma playing the female lead. While Ram Narayan is the director, Sahu Garapati is the producer. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on February 14 as a Valentine’s Day treat.
