Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, released in theatres today after nearly two years in the making. Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead in this emotional action drama, which also released under the title Saamrajya in Hindi.
Netflix has officially acquired the streaming rights to the film. According to current reports, Kingdom is expected to arrive on the platform around four weeks after its theatrical release.
While most films follow an eight-week gap before moving to OTT, that window mainly applies to titles released in major multiplex chains like PVR and Inox. Since Kingdom was not released in these chains for its Hindi version, the makers are not restricted by that agreement and are going ahead with a shorter release window. If the plan holds, Kingdom could start streaming on Netflix by the end of this month.
The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banners, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
