Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja, also starring star heroine Anushka Shetty in a lead role, was released in 2010. Despite ending up as a colossal dud at the box office, the Trivikram directorial earned cult status thanks to the intriguing theme the film discussed and the chartbuster soundtrack composed by Manisharma.
Khaleja is all set to make a comeback to the silver screens on May 30. The film will be having a huge release across the world. Given the massive craze centered around its release, Khaleja is erasing several re-release records and is setting new benchmarks among the re-releases in the southern film industry.
As per the latest updates, Khaleja has sold over a whopping 62K tickets for the opening day within 24 hours on the Book My Show app, occupying the second spot in the list of all-time record openers among the re-releases. While the Bollywood horror drama, Tumbadd, stands tall with over 1 million tickets sold, Khaleja has dethroned Thalapathy Vijay’s Ghilli (61.95K) to reign over the South movies.
Apart from a huge re-release across the country, Khaleja is also gearing up for a grand re-release in several overseas destinations. The film is either sold out or fast-filling in many key centers in the twin Telugu states. Noticing the massive craze, the distributors are adding extra shows for the opening weekend.
