Kantara Chapter 1 makers end release date rumors; Deets inside

Sandalwood star Rishab Shetty’s Kantara was released in December 2022 and ended up being a huge blockbuster at the box office. The film won the prestigious National Award for Best Actor for Rishab Shetty. It’s well known that a sequel titled Kantara Chapter 1 has been in the making since last year.

Until recently, speculations about Kantara Chapter 1’s postponement have been doing the rounds on social media. Putting an end to the rumors, Kantara Chapter 1’s team took to X and wrote, “We’re right on track, and everything is progressing as planned. #KantaraChapter1 will release in theaters worldwide on October 2, 2025.” The makers also assured fans that the wait will be worth it and urged everyone to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified updates.

Kantara amassed over Rs 400 crore upon its release. The franchise is being helmed by Rishab Shetty, while Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films is the producer. The film also features Sapthami Gowda, Jayaram, Kishore, Jayasurya, and Jisshu Sengupta in prominent roles.
