Thug Life hit theatres with sky-high expectations but unfortunately fell flat at the box office right from its morning show. Despite the powerful combo of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and AR Rahman, the film failed to impress audiences.
During promotions, Kamal Haasan had mentioned that Thug Life would follow an eight-week theatrical-to-OTT window. However, after the film’s lackluster box office performance, reports suggest he’s now negotiating with Netflix to advance the digital release.
If the negotiations go through, Thug Life could arrive on the platform in less than a month. For now, all eyes are on whether Netflix agrees to the early release.
The film also stars Trisha, Simbu, Nassar, Joju George, and others. It is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies.
