The Hindi remake of Nani, Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Jersey is all set to go on floors in December this year, and if the latest buzz is to be believed the producers have finalised the lead actress opposite Shahid Kapoor. As per the latest reports, Mrunal Thakur of Super 30 fame will play Shahid’s wife in this cricket based drama. The role was originally essayed by Shraddha Srinath in Telugu.
Initially, the makers were in talks with Rashmika to play the lead role and her Bollywood entry looked almost certain with the Hindi remake of Jersey. However, after the talks didn’t materialise, Mrunal was approached and she is said to have evinced her interest immediately. Apart from Super 30, Mrunal also played the lead role in Batla House, Love Sonia, and recently she was signed for Farhan Akthar starrer Toofan.
On the other hand, Rashmika has her hands full in Telugu with Bheeshma and Sarileru Neekevvaru slated for released in the first half of the year. She is also the lead actress in Allu Arjun, Sukumar’s new project.
