Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is set for a grand Pongal release on January 9, 2026. There have been reports that Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Sudha Kongara, is also eyeing a release during the same festive window.
This speculation about a potential clash has created quite a buzz on social media. At a recent event, Sudha Kongara addressed the topic, and her statement was indeed surprising. She said, “There are reports of a Pongal clash between both films, but I honestly don’t know. Only the producer will decide when Parasakthi can release.” Did Sudha Kongara indirectly hint that Parasakthi isn’t releasing for Pongal? Only time will tell.
Speaking about why she chose Sivakarthikeyan as the protagonist, the female director said, “Siva is definitely the right actor for the role. His qualities, like boy-next-door looks, honesty, and sincerity, match my hero’s personality, which made him the perfect choice.”
