Suriya’s Jai Bhim was a widely acclaimed film on OTT. The film was in the race for the Best Picture in the Oscar Awards category for the year 2022.
As the final list is out, Jai Bhim did not get selected in the top ten. But the good news for India is that a documentary named Writing With Fire has been selected in the Best Documentary Feature.
The documentary is directed by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh. It is about India’s only newspaper run by Dalit women. Chief reporter Meera and her journalists break traditions, redefining what it means to be powerful. We need to see if this feature wins the prestigious award or not.
