Global Star Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer, a political drama directed by Shankar. Despite being mounted on a massive budget and backed by high expectations, the film failed to create any major buzz during its theatrical and OTT run. The story was penned by Karthik Subbaraj, and Kiara Advani played the female lead opposite Charan.
Recently, the film made its television debut on ZEE Telugu and managed to secure a TRP of 5.02. While this figure is underwhelming for a big-budget venture, it’s not entirely surprising given the film’s negative reception and tough competition from the ongoing IPL. In fact, some box office hits have recorded similar TRPs, making this performance relatively decent for a film that struggled in theatres.
SJ Suryah played the main antagonist in Game Changer, which also featured a strong supporting cast including Anjali, Srikanth, Naveen Chandra, Samuthirakani, and Priyadarshi. Produced by Dil Raju on a grand scale, the film had music composed by Thaman.
So while Game Changer didn’t live up to the hype, its television performance shows that there’s still some curiosity around the film – enough to keep it in the conversation, even if briefly.
