The audio of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kaala was launched in style in Chennai earlier today. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film has been produced by Dhanush, and Santosh Narayan has scored the music. The highlight of the event was a heartfelt speech by Rajinikanth himself, who surprised everyone with his candid comments.

The actor openly confessed that he did a big mistake with Kochadaiyaan and that he had given up hope on the film while it was under production itself. “My other two recent films Lingaa and Kabali too didn’t impress my fans. Kabali is a complete director’s story and I really liked what he wanted to say through the film. But Kaala will be quite different, it’s a film which my fans will thoroughly enjoy too. Although it is not a political film, it talks a lot about politics. After Baasha and Padayappa, Kaala will have a formidable villain among my films and it was a pleasure working with Nana Patekar.”

The actor-turned-politician went on to say that people have been writing him off for the past 40 years; however, it was God’s wish that he make progress in his life and career. “Good times will come soon for Tamil Nadu,” he said, hinting at his political entry without explaining further.
