Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest film, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is stuck in a contrasting scenario. On one side, the movie is having an excellent run at the box office, but on the other side, the movie is drawing severe criticism. Congress MP Ranjeeth Ranjan said that her daughter walked out of the movie midway having tears.
The politician said that films like Kabir Singh, Pushpa, and Animal are setting a bad example to youth. She feels that movies mirror society and will definitely influence younger audiences. Ranjeeth Ranjan noted that films like Animal are encouraging toxic masculinity and added that they are a disease to society.
Ranjeeth Ranjan further stated that movies like these justify the misogyny and violence and called it a shameful act. While a few are on the same page as Ranjeeth Ranjan, a few are taking a dig at the politician. Apart from Animal, no other film has recently received such polarised reviews.
