Released as a Republic Day treat amid high expectations, Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s high budget aerial action drama, Fighter, is turning out to be a colossal failure at the box office worldwide. Especially, the film is performing very poorly in the domestic markets due to its stale and lackluster content.
On Monday, Fighter crashed big-time and collected just about Rs 8 crore nett at the ticket counters across India. The film’s total 5-day all India nett will be around Rs 127 crore. On the other hand, the film collected close to Rs 220 crore globally. The film has so far collected over $4.2 million in the North American region.
Fighter is directed by leading Bollywood filmmaker Siddharth Anand, whose previous movie, the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer spy thriller Pathaan, collected Rs 525 crore lifetime nett across India. However, Fighter is expected to close its lifetime Indian collection within Rs 200 crore nett.
