Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Kingdom has been officially postponed to July 4, 2025. Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, this spy action thriller is one of the most anticipated releases next year.

Meanwhile, in a candid interview with Cinema Vikatan, Vijay opened up about a film he almost did—but didn’t. The film in question is Oke Oka Jeevitham (Kanam in Tamil), which eventually starred Sharwanand and marked the directorial debut of Shree Karthick. Vijay revealed that the script was narrated to him three times and he genuinely loved it. In fact, he was keen to act in and even produce it. However, he felt he wasn’t the right fit for the role. While he still wanted to back it as a producer, that plan didn’t take off either – producer SR Prabhu insisted, “I will do it.”

The film was released in 2022 and received positive feedback. Ironically, Liger, which became one of the biggest setbacks in Vijay’s career, hit theatres just a month earlier.

On the bright side, Vijay has a busy lineup ahead. He’s teaming up with Rahul Sankrityan for one project, and with Ravi Kiran Kola for another titled Rowdy Janardhan. Plus, fans can also look forward to the sequel of Kingdom, which is already in the works. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on Vijay’s upcoming ventures!
