Thaman is in his prime, and whatever he composes these days turns into a chartbuster. After the release of They Call Him OG, the composer opened up about several topics. As he is currently working on the music for Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, he shared an interesting fact.
This movie marks the first full-fledged collaboration between Thaman and Prabhas. But did you know that Thaman was originally considered for a Prabhas film released in 2012? It was Rebel, directed by Raghava Lawrence. Thaman was initially approached as the music director, but when Lawrence himself stepped in to compose, Thaman left the project. That’s how he missed the chance to work with Prabhas about 12 years ago.
Later, he composed the birthday teaser music for Saaho and the background score for Radhe Shyam. However, The Raja Saab marks his first full role as music director for a Prabhas film.
Speaking highly of the songs, Thaman revealed that The Raja Saab has four tracks, promising a musical storm. The film, directed by Maruthi, is scheduled for release on January 9, 2026.
