Generally, we see more caste-based love dramas in Tamil, but these films rarely come in Telugu. However, a soon-to-be-released Telugu film depicts a love story set against the backdrop of caste discrimination. The film in discussion is Dhandoraa, a gripping socio-satirical drama set in rural Telangana. The first glimpse was released today under the name “First Beat.” The glimpse starts with a quote that says a person’s life from birth to death is determined by caste.

Society has long been divided by caste, but can love rise above it? Dhandoraa raises many such questions. The first beat presents a few paper clippings highlighting honor killings. This bold and thought-provoking film sheds light on a love story tainted by societal prejudices.

Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni of Loukya Entertainments, who bankrolled the National Award-winning film Colour Photo and the comedy entertainer Bedurulanka 2012, is backing Dhandoora.

The film features a talented cast, including Shivaji, Navdeep, Nandu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Ravi Krishna, Manika Chikkala, and Anusha. Muralikanth is the director, and Mark K Robin composes the music. The shooting is currently in progress, and the film will be released in 2025. Keep watching this space for more updates on Dhandoraa.
