Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has now come up with the crime thriller Raid 2, which hit the screens yesterday. The movie, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, is a sequel to the 2018 superhit film Raid. Vaani Kapoor replaced Ileana D’Cruz in the second installment, and Ritesh Deshmukh played the villain.
Raid 2 opened on the expected lines at the ticket windows. According to trade reports, the film collected Rs. 19.71 crores nett at the domestic box office. The opening day number is bigger than Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, Drishyam 2, and Tanhaji. The franchise and holiday factors helped Raid 2 register a good opening.
Given the mixed reviews, it will be interesting to see how this sequel will fare in the long run. Tamannaah Bhatia, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Yo Yo Honey Singh were seen in cameos. Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and others played supporting roles. Produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series Films, the film features music by Amit Trivedi.
