In 2023, SS Rajamouli announced a movie titled “Made In India” based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke. Varun Gupta (Max Studios) and SS Karthikeya (Showing Business) have been working on the script for the past few years. Yesterday, Pink Villa reported that Tollywood star actor Jr. NTR would play Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema, on the big screen, and the news came as a sweet surprise to fans.
Much to the shock of NTR fans, today, Bollywood’s prominent trade analyst and reviewer, Taran Adarsh, revealed that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are reuniting forces for a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke. Accordingly, the biographical film is set against the backdrop of India’s independence struggle and will chronicle the extraordinary journey of the man who laid the foundation of Indian cinema.
Hirani has reportedly been working on the script for four years. Shooting for this Aamir Khan starrer will begin in October 2025. After the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, Mr. Perfectionist will start prepping for the biggie. This is Hirani’s second biographical film after Sanju, which was based on the life events of Sanjay Dutt. Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan’s previous two collaborations, 3 Idiots and PK, turned out to be industry hits, and hence their association is set to bring massive hype for the biopic.
Though there hasn’t been any formal announcement about NTR starring in this legendary biopic, discussions have begun on social media about this probable clash. There have been instances where multiple biopics were made on the same person. NTR or Aamir Khan —Who will play the Father of Indian Cinema? Only time will tell us that.
