Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated Coolie is now playing in theatres. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the gangster action drama is raking in massive numbers at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews. King Nagarjuna played the antagonist. Many expected either Rajinikanth or Nagarjuna to dominate the spotlight, but to everyone’s surprise, two other actors emerged as the real show-stealers.
The artists in question are Soubin Shahir and Rachita Ram, from Mollywood and Sandalwood, respectively. Before the film’s release, many assumed Soubin would be limited to a sidekick role in the villain’s gang. As for Rachita Ram, no one imagined her playing such a pivotal part. Both Soubin and Rachita killed it with their performances in menacing avatars, adding significant intensity to the film.
Their screen time is also noteworthy. It’s rare for actors to get such prominent roles, especially in a big-ticket film. Soubin Shahir and Rachita Ram seized the opportunity with full force, and without an ounce of doubt Coolie will elevate their careers to the next level.
