Popular Tollywood producer Vivek Kuchibhotla has been appointed by the Andhra Pradesh government to the Home Affairs of AP Govt (HADM) committee. The producer took to X and thanked AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Tollywood star and AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh for the opportunity.
The five-member HADM committee will study and submit proposals to regularize movie ticket rates at single screens and multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh. “A crucial step in understanding audience access, exhibitor sustainability & producer interests. Looking forward to balanced, constructive insights,” Vivek Kuchibhotla posted on X. He also shared the G.O. released by the AP government in this regard.
The AP government constituted the above committee after a group of exhibitors filed a writ petition before the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, seeking direction to run their theaters as per the rates prevailing prior to the passing of the impugned order. The HADM committee shall take into account the present position and legal issues and the submissions made in the representation and submit the necessary recommendations to the government.
