Bobby Deol is set to portray the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Pawan Kalyan’s period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Jyothi Krishna. While Bobby Deol had already shot for a few scenes, a major shift occurred after the director watched his powerful performance in the Bollywood blockbuster Animal headlined by Ranbir Kapoor.
Deeply impressed with his portrayal, Jyothi Krishna decided to completely rewrite and redesign Bobby’s character to better suit his evolving screen persona. “Bobby Deol garu’s performance in Animal was spellbinding. The way he conveyed so much emotion without uttering a dialogue left us all stunned. It inspired me to reshape his role in our film, giving it an entirely new dimension,” the director explained.
Jyothi Krishna emphasized that his goal was to enhance the emotional depth of the character by revisiting its arc. The revised version includes significant changes to Aurangzeb’s personality, backstory, motivations, and physical appearance, offering Bobby Deol a much stronger role. The director believed that these modifications were necessary to match Bobby’s current stature and deliver a performance that lives up to audience expectations.
Jyothi Krishna added that Bobby Deol was thrilled when he heard the updated script. We will get to see more of Bobby Deol in the theatrical trailer that is set to release on July 3rd. The movie backed by Mega Surya Production is slated for a grand release on July 25. MM Keeravani is the music composer and Nidhhi Agerwal plays the female lead.
