Deepika Padukone is all over the news after the makers of Kalki 2898 AD officially dropped her from the sequel. The Prabhas starrer made huge bucks at the box office and though the whole film revolved around Deepika’s Sumathi character, Vyjayanthi Movies showed her the door citing a lack of commitment for a project of that scale.
A few media reports claimed it was due to Deepika’s alleged demand for a higher salary and other perks. While South fans trolled the actress, Bollywood fans came out in support of her. Amidst this controversy, the actress has now started shooting for Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King.
Taking to her Instagram, Deepika posted a pic holding SRK’s hand and wrote, “The very first lesson he (SRK) taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success. I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made. And that’s probably why we are back making our 6th film together?”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King marks the silver-screen debut of Suhana Khan. SRK plays an aged gangster. Produced by Red Chillies and Marflix, the movie also features Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma in key roles.
