After facing a string of failures, Naga Chaitanya made a stunning comeback with the romantic patriotic drama Thandel. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film silenced the naysayers and went on to collect over Rs.100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Dancing sensation Sai Pallavi played the female lead.
Thandel recently had its world television premiere on Zee Telugu. The latest update reveals that the film, backed by Geetha Arts, registered a TRP of 10.32, which is extraordinary, to say the least. At a time when the performance of films on small screens has dropped significantly, Thandel created ripples.
Even some hit films haven’t been securing good TRPs lately, but Thandel proved to be an exception. It earned the third position among the TRPs of Telugu films telecasted in 2025, trailing only behind Sankranthiki Vasthunam (18.22) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (12.61). On Zee Telugu, the film was the second-best performer in 2025 after Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music for Thandel.
