Kollywood stalwart Superstar Rajinikanth’s recently released action drama, Vettaiyan – The Hunter, continues to enthrall Thalaivar fans and mint big bucks at the box office worldwide. The TJ Gnanavel directorial has succeeded in delivering a strong social commentary on the corrupt education system while also serving wholesome entertainment at the same time.
Interestingly, Rajini did explore a similar theme in his previous blockbuster, Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, that tackled the issue of reforming hardcore criminals. Even after over 5 decades as an actor and Superstar, Rajini still attempts to choose stories laced with social messages.
And it looks like Rajini is all set to delve into a similar zone with his upcoming movie, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. Even though Rajini has been portrayed as a gangster in the promos of this highly anticipated project, speculations are rife that Rajini and Lokesh have much bigger surprises up their sleeves.
It’s incredible that Rajini, even after so many years of being the emperor of cinema, remains committed to continuously initiating dialogue about social issues.
