Just a while ago, we reported about the massive ticket price hike for Rajinikanth’s Coolie in Andhra Pradesh. Now NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 has also received the same hikes in the state, i.e., Rs. 75/- (including GST) in single screens and Rs. 100/- (including GST) in multiplexes on the prevailing rates.
Additionally, War 2 received a special privilege from the AP government. Distributors were allowed to screen a special show at 5 A.M., with the ticket price permitted for this screening being Rs. 500/-. Rajini’s Coolie will also have a 5 A.M. show in Andhra Pradesh, but it will have the regular hike, unlike War 2.
The enhanced prices will be applicable for a period of 10 days, i.e., August 14 to August 23. In Andhra Pradesh, Coolie and War 2 prices will now be capped at Rs. 220/- in single screens and Rs. 277/- in multiplexes. While hikes were rejected in Telangana, the AP government allowed a massive enhancement for the Independence Day weekend releases.
