Despite the release of two new movies, Akhil’s Agent and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2, the blockbuster supernatural thriller, Virupaksha, has not slowed down at the box office. The Sai Tej and Samyuktha Menon-starrer surpassed all expectations and collected a decent share of Rs 1.83 crore in the Andhra, Nizam and Ceded regions on Saturday.
In the twin Telugu states, Virupaksha amassed a solid theatrical share of Rs 28.03 crore in 9 days of its release. With both Agent and Ponniyin Selvan 2 failing to set the cash registers on fire in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it’s advantage Virupaksha from this weekend, and the film will continue its decent show until the next big releases arrive in cinemas.
