96 sequel is not shelved; Director provides a solid update

Romantic drama 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha is regarded as one of the classic love tales in Indian cinema. Prem Kumar. C directed this flick, which was also a commercial blockbuster. The director has been planning to make a sequel to 96, but lately rumors have floated online that the second part has been shelved.

In a recent interview, the director clarified that sequel plans are still on. Prem Kumar said, “The script work has been completed, and it’s my best writing so far. My friends told me it’s far better than 96. When Ishari Ganesh sir heard the script, he gifted me a gold chain worth several lakhs. I will make the sequel with the same cast. If not, I won’t make it.”

The filmmaker has recently locked a film with the Mollywood versatile actor Fahadh Faasil. Prem Kumar was also supposed to work with Chiyaan Vikram, but that project has been put on hold temporarily. We need to see when 96: Part 2 will go on floors.
