Ace producer Dil Raju is pushing ahead with Yellamma, directed by Balagam’s Venu Yeldandi. The film has been floating around for a while, mostly because of the shifting names attached to it. At different points, Nani, Nithiin, Keerthy Suresh and Sai Pallavi were all said to be in the film, but none of them stayed on.
The team clearly took longer than expected to figure out the casting, which explains the constant back-and-forth. Now there is chatter about Devi Sri Prasad taking the lead, though even that doesn’t look confirmed.
The project came back into discussion after Dil Raju, during his visit to IFFI 2025 in Goa, said that the official announcement would be out in 10 days.
That is the first time he has given a proper timeline, so it looks like they are finally ready to set the record straight. He also mentioned that the film is being planned for a 2026 release. Once the announcement drops, the guessing game around Yellamma should finally end.
