Raju Weds Rambai is a small Telugu film with a mostly new cast that opened in cinemas on Friday. The release surprised the trade by drawing solid reviews from both audiences and critics.
The film is directed by debutant Saailu Kaampati and features Akhil Raj Uddemari and Tejaswi Rao in a real life inspired love story. On day 1, it has collected around Rs. 1.5 crore gross in the Telugu states. BookMyShow recorded stronger activity in the last 24 hours, with 69.5K tickets sold, indicating strong word of mouth.
The Nizam region is likely to post higher day two numbers, with official figures awaited. More than 100 shows were added recently, indicating rising demand. It is also clear that Sunday collections will be much better than the previous days.
The supporting cast includes Chaitanya Jonnalagadda, Shivaji Raja and Anitha Chowdary. The film is produced by Venu Udugula and Rahul Mopidevi, with music by Suresh Bobbili.
