Anupama Parameswaran is gearing up to entertain audiences with the social drama, Paradha. The movie directed by Praveen Kandregula of Cinema Bandi fame is scheduled to release on August 22, 2025. The actress shocked one and all with her bold avatar in Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Tillu Square, which released last year.

For this comedy caper, Anupama didn’t shy away from doing intimate scenes, and the movie went on to become a huge blockbuster. During Paradha promotions, Anupama made surprising comments about how she approached Tillu Square. The actress stated that people didn’t like her playing that character.

“It took a long time for me to give the nod for that film (Tillu Square). I was in two minds. It was a very tough decision to make. I couldn’t play my part with utmost confidence, either. That role is entirely different from my real life. I was not even comfortable wearing those dresses. I don’t dress that way normally,” said the actress.

Anupama added, “Investing time in looking good is something which I don’t like to do. I prefer low maintenance. The more comfortable I am, the more confident I will be. That reflects in my performance too. For me to do a film like that, where I have to look good, was the most challenging part. I also considered what people might think about me if I played that role. There was criticism. People didn’t like my playing that role. They liked the role. It is as strong as the hero’s.”
