It is known that Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter failed to clear the censor formalities in the Gulf countries. Though the reason for the same wasn’t revealed, a few believe it was due to the film’s theme. Until today, the movie was banned in all the Gulf countries, excluding the UAE. The bookings were opened for the film in UAE.
Trade analysts have now reported that the bookings in UAE have been removed from all the major theatre chains. Just a while ago, the film’s UAE distributor confirmed the suspension in the country. This has come as a shocker to Hrithik fans. Gulf is one of the biggest markets for Bollywood movies, and Fighter not releasing there is surely a severe blow. Hrithik Roshan’s biggest hit War did nearly 5 million dollars in the Gulf.
As the release is affected in the Gulf, the movie should perform extraordinarily at the domestic box office to cover its humongous budget. This Siddharth Anand’s directorial features Deepika Padukone as the female lead. Fighter is India’s first aerial action thriller.
