Coolie Day 1 Collections in Nizam Out Now

Coolie is Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest outing at the box office. Fans had high expectations for this Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. The surprise twist is that Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna turned villain for this movie.

In Nizam, the movie opened decently on Day 1, with collections close to Rs. 4.15 crore share (excl. GST). With the extended weekend ahead, there is a chance for it to shine at the box office in the region.

The movie is expected to make around Rs. 150 crore globally, and we will need to wait for an official announcement from the makers, Sun Pictures.

Coolie also features Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, and Shruthi Haasan in other important roles. Anirudh handled the music.

However, audiences have one big question — why was the movie given A rating when there isn’t much violence or any intimate scenes that would disturb present-day viewers? Many point out that there are films with far more violent content than Coolie that are still getting U/A rating, so why Coolie was awarded this certificate is puzzling fans. Chikitu: First single from Rajinikanth’s Coolie offers a distinct vibe

Superstar Rajinikanth and sensational director Lokesh Kanagaraj joined hands for the gangster action drama Coolie. The big-ticket entertainer is scheduled to hit the big screens on August 14, 2025, clashing with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2.

As promised, the makers have now released the first single, ‘Chikitu,’ in the form of a music video. The specially designed video features Simbu’s father, T. Rajendar, and music director Anirudh Ravichander imitating Thalaivar’s dance moves. We see a few glimpses of Rajini dancing to the introductory song.

At the moment, Chikitu offers a distinct vibe compared to Anirudh’s usual high-energy mass tracks. It remains to be seen how audiences will respond to it in the days ahead. The lyrics were written by Arivu, with vocals rendered by Anirudh, T. Rajendar, and Arivu himself. Sun Pictures is bankrolling this flick. Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir play key roles, while Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo.
