2.0’s Day 1 AP & Telangana collections: Best in Rajini’s career

Amid unprecedented hype and sky-high expectations, Super Star Rajinikanth and maverick director Shankar’s sci-fi wonder, 2.0, had a grand worldwide release yesterday. The film had received a unanimous positive response from fans and critics alike and this in turn had helped the film register decent openings.

In the twin Telugu states, 2.0 has collected a distributor share of Rs 12.53 crore on its opening day. This Rajini’s career best opening in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Below are 2.0’s areawise collections:

2.0’s Tamil version sets a new Day 1 record in Chennai

As expected, Super Star Rajinikanth and star director Shankar’s much acclaimed sci-fi extravaganza, 2.0, is setting the box-offices in Tamil Nadu and other key markets on fire. Released on a working day, the film’s Tamil version has set a new opening day record in the Chennai city.

2.0’s has collected a whopping Rs 2.64 crore gross at the box-offices in Chennai city. With this, 2.0 has beaten Sarkar and emerged all-time biggest day one grosser in Chennai. The next 4 movies in the list of top 5 highest openers in Chennai are: Sarkar (Rs 2.37 Cr), Kaala (Rs 1.76 Cr), Mersal (Rs 1.52 Cr) and Vivegam (Rs 1.21 Cr).

2.0’s UA, East & Guntur Day 1 collections

Despite being released on a working day on November 29, Super Star Rajinikanth and maverick director Shankar’s 550 crore magnum opus, 2.0, took a flying start at the box-offices worldwide. The film had opened to record collections in Rajini’s career.

On its opening day, 2.0 collected a distributor share of Rs 1.65 crore in the Uttarandhra region. And then, the film has collected another Rs 1.35 crore share in the East Godavari region. Finally, the film has notched up Rs 1.02 crore share in the Guntur district.
