Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan, is gearing up for his directorial debut with the web show The Bads of Bollywood. As promised, Netflix dropped the preview this evening, and it looks solid with all the crowd-pleasing elements.
As mentioned earlier, the series takes a jab at the Hindi film industry, showcasing what happens behind the silver screen—humor, party culture, drama, controversies, rumors, and relationships. The preview opens with Shah Rukh Khan’s voiceover, where he says that Bollywood is a city of dreams, but quickly adds that not everyone can thrive.
We are then introduced to the principal cast. Kill fame Lakshya plays an upcoming star, Aasman Singh, who doesn’t want to be one among many and instead stands out with his no-holds-barred attitude. Raghav Juyal plays his friend. Bobby Deol appears as the biggest superstar, Ajay Talvar. Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar also make cameo appearances.
The peppy background score, composed by Shashwat Sachdev, complements the quirky nature of the teaser. Aryan Khan even inserted a meta reference to himself through a dialogue, suggesting that people become more famous after going to jail. The production values by Red Chillies Entertainment are splendid. The series is set to stream on Netflix from September 18.
