Do you remember when the multifaceted actor Vijay Antony was astonished to hear Mirnalini Ravi talk about situationships, benching, and other Gen-Z words during the promotions of Romeo/ Love Guru? The same actor is now producing a movie for Gen-Z called Pookie.
After a backlash, the makers changed the name to Bookie in Telugu while retaining Pookie in Tamil. It is a bilingual film, and its pooja ceremony was held today in Hyderabad.
Satya Dev, Lakshmi Manchu, and others graced the launching ceremony. Touted as a rom-com, the movie stars Ajay Dhishan as the main lead and debutant Dhanusha as his romantic interest. Sunil has been roped in to play an intriguing role.
Produced under the banner VAF Corporation, the movie features Vijay Antony as the composer. The film also features actors like Pandiarajan, Indumathi Manikandan, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Aditya Kathir, and more in supporting roles. The movie is scheduled for a 2026 release.
