Reigning star of Tollywood, Pawan Kalyan, forayed into politics over a decade ago and went on to become the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh following a thumping victory in the 2024 Assembly elections. However, Pawan Kalyan would have never entered politics but continued to act in movies if destiny had other plans more than 2 decades ago.
In a recent interview while promoting Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the film’s producer, AM Rathnam, made a surprise revelation. “I was supposed to produce Satyagrahi under Pawan Kalyan’s direction. We even launched the movie back in 2003 in a grand event. However, Pawan garu didn’t complete the film’s script, maybe because of the disappointing result of his maiden directorial, Johnny. Satyagrahi was shelved eventually,” said the veteran producer.
AM Rathnam went on to make an exciting revelation. “I recently met Pawan Kalyan garu and brought up the topic of Satyagrahi. He told me that he would have never entered politics and continued to act in movies like Bollywood star Aamir Khan had he made Satyagrahi,” said the star producer.
Satyagrahi was a political film planned by Pawan Kalyan after Johnny. The film was inspired by the iconic yesteryear leader Loknayak ‘Jayaprakash Narayan’s ‘ Emergency movement.
