Director Prasanth Varma, who delivered the blockbuster Hanu-Man, is now in the news for a dispute with the film’s producer, K. Niranjan Reddy of PrimeShow Entertainment. The issue has reached the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and the Telugu Film Directors’ Association for further examination.

According to reports, PrimeShow Entertainment has claimed that advance payments were made for a few proposed projects such as Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, and Brahma Rakshasa. The producer reportedly approached the Film Chamber, stating that the projects did not progress under his banner as planned and sought repayment of the advances along with compensation.

Following these reports, Prasanth Varma issued a statement addressing the issue. In his note, he said that “certain media outlets have shared incomplete and one-sided information” and called it “irresponsible and misleading.” He clarified that the matter is already before the Film Chamber and urged everyone to “refrain from drawing conclusions until an official outcome is announced.”

He further stated, “The allegations made against me are false, baseless, and retaliatory in nature.” The director also pointed out that “no formal agreements were signed for the said projects” and that the payments mentioned were related to his HanuMan profit share, not as advances for new films.

Prasanth Varma concluded his note by requesting media and social media platforms to verify facts before publishing stories and to respect the Chamber’s process. Both sides have now submitted their statements, and the Film Chamber is expected to review the matter soon.
