Kantara: Chapter 1, directed by Rishab Shetty, is on the verge of creating a historic moment in Indian cinema this year. Featuring stellar performances from Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah, the film continues to dominate the box office even in its third weekend, turning into a true nationwide sensation.
The divine blockbuster has already minted around Rs. 750 crore worldwide. The film’s third Sunday witnessed packed shows across several regions, reaffirming its craze despite stiff competition from new releases.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is now inching closer to surpassing the lifetime collections of the Hindi blockbuster Chhaava (Rs. 807 crore) to emerge as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. To achieve this feat, the film needs to maintain a steady run for another week or so.
With Diwali falling today, a surge in collections is highly possible, which could help the film overtake Chhaava sooner than expected.
Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 is elevated by Ajaneesh Loknath’s terrific background score and soulful songs, making it one of the most celebrated cinematic experiences of the year.
