The first collaboration between SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu is now officially titled Varanasi. The title glimpse drew a massive response and strong appreciation from audiences across the world. Rajamouli’s planning, event design and marketing push were completely on point.
There is also an interesting update from Priyanka Chopra, who plays the female lead. When a follower on Instagram asked her if she would dub her own lines in Telugu for Varanasi, she replied that she is practising hard to do it. Her answer instantly caught attention and showed her commitment to the role. It will be interesting to see how she performs in Telugu, and with Rajamouli guiding her, it would not be surprising if she speaks the language fluently at the pre-release event and in the film.
The team is currently shooting the climax at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Along with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, the film stars Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran in a powerful villain role.
